Wand Display Craft

So, Tasha got to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I am still jealous but at least she brought back some awesome stuff!  My main prezzie was a Luna Lovegood wand from Olivanders. I LOVE it! I wanted to be able to display it so I looked around the intertubz for some inspiration. I’m pretty happy with what I came up with! Check out the video for all the details and don’t forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel!

Keep an eye out for our harry Potter candy taste test coming soon!

Louisiana Road Trippin’ with Mom

Mom and Tasha (2)

I had my mom to myself for 8 years, then my brother was born. I didn’t realize how much I would need her as an adult. Not just after my embolism, but as a friend. However, everywhere we go, everything we do, there is always someone with us. I enjoy their company, or I wouldn’t participate; however, sometimes we just need alone time with Mom. I don’t want to be one of those people who regret not getting to spend that precious time with their mom after she’s gone.

Wreck It Wednesday – Intro and Day 1

Journaling is touted as a great way to alleviate anxiety, resolve negative feelings and help you unload the stress of life in general. If you are like me you have bought a journal or diary of some kind with the intention of filling it up but… after a week of dutifully writing every night something happens and you miss a day… then 2 days… then 5 years. C’est la vie.

While I may not be the best at consistently journaling I am a sucker for new ways of recording my thoughts and memories.

Online Dating ~or how I conquered Hell in one easy step~

After years of wishing I’d meet “Mr. Right,” I took matter into my own hands. Well, fingers, I suppose. My brother met his fiancé on PlentyofFish.com, and I’ve been told by many others that they met their partners online as well. I refuse to pay for something that I should be able to do myself, so I used Plenty of Fish. I put a pretty picture of myself, posted a profile describing what I want and don’t want, and off I went on my adventure.

Texas Civil War Museum

I am not very good at remembering things, as my close friends and family will attest too. However, I love history. I can’t remember dates, but I love watching movies about history, reading and visiting places of history and museums.

Today, Ray and I took a little trip across town to see the Texas Civil War Museum, located off of 820 in Fort Worth. Until a month ago Ray, nor I, knew it existed. He had mentioned something about going to one of the museums earlier in the week, so I planned a surprise outing this morning.
The outside of the building reminds me of an old plantation. I am sure that was the idea, and it was very pretty. After looking back at the information it was just that. It was built to house the treasures inside.

Writing 101 – Day 2 – Lists

The following post is part of a Writing 101 ecourse I am taking from The Daily Post. I am participating in the course to help me get ideas for content as well as hone my writing skills for you good people. If you are a blogger, or just interested in writing check it out!

Lists are a running joke in my family. My older brother, Scott, would make lists after list after list. Notebooks full of them!! It was mainly stuff he wanted to buy, or stuff he would need to build something, if you can put it in list form Scott would. He’s weird.

List are actually huge business for websites nowadays. Facebook is full of “Top Ten Things That Are Dumb But You Act Like Care About Because You Are Procrastinating or Avoiding People Right Now” type lists. Case in point: The Top 10 DUMBEST Buzzfeed Lists.

Anyhoo, the prompt for Day 2 of Writing 101 is:

Today, write your own list on one of these topics:

  • Things I Like

  • Things I’ve Learned

  • Things I Wish

The “Things I’ve learned” option seems the most interesting choice to me. Hope you enjoy!
