The Cozy Mug – September 2015


Cozy Mug has been teasing us for a few months about the excitement of the fall editions of the subscription. I think the main part of the excitement for most of us was just that it was FALL. We just want the cooler weather, beautiful colors, cooler weather, tasty spices, cooler weather. I think you get the point. This month’s box didn’t disappoint. I really enjoy fall flavors, and can’t wait to dive into this one!

Wreck It Wednesday – Intro and Day 1


Journaling is touted as a great way to alleviate anxiety, resolve negative feelings and help you unload the stress of life in general. If you are like me you have bought a journal or diary of some kind with the intention of filling it up but… after a week of dutifully writing every night something happens and you miss a day… then 2 days… then 5 years. C’est la vie.

While I may not be the best at consistently journaling I am a sucker for new ways of recording my thoughts and memories.

Online Dating ~or how I conquered Hell in one easy step~


After years of wishing I’d meet “Mr. Right,” I took matter into my own hands. Well, fingers, I suppose. My brother met his fiancé on, and I’ve been told by many others that they met their partners online as well. I refuse to pay for something that I should be able to do myself, so I used Plenty of Fish. I put a pretty picture of myself, posted a profile describing what I want and don’t want, and off I went on my adventure.

Texas Civil War Museum


I am not very good at remembering things, as my close friends and family will attest too. However, I love history. I can’t remember dates, but I love watching movies about history, reading and visiting places of history and museums.

Today, Ray and I took a little trip across town to see the Texas Civil War Museum, located off of 820 in Fort Worth. Until a month ago Ray, nor I, knew it existed. He had mentioned something about going to one of the museums earlier in the week, so I planned a surprise outing this morning.
The outside of the building reminds me of an old plantation. I am sure that was the idea, and it was very pretty. After looking back at the information it was just that. It was built to house the treasures inside.
